SOLO HARPSICHORD
QC 1006 Bach and His Circle
A recital of works by Bach and composers who
knew him personally, including his pupil Johann
Ludwig Krebs, whose extraordinary Partita in A
Minor opens with a tribute to another work on the
program, Bach's Chromatic Fantasia and
Fugue. Also included here are works by Conrad
Friedrich Hurlebusch, whose music Bach sold,
and Johann Gottfried Walther, Bach's cousin
and friend.
QC 1002 & 1004 François d'Agincour
Complete Works for Harpsichord
François d'Agincour's music is almost unknown
today, yet his harpsichord works stand
comparison with those of his great
contemporaries Jean-Philippe Rameau and
François Couperin. This recording brings these
forgotten masterpieces back to life. D'Agincour's
music is both complex and gracious: French
harpsichord music at its most subtle, from the
grand "Allemande: La Couperin" (a tribute to
d’Agincour’s mentor François Couperin) to the
playful "Le Colin-Maillard" to the sublime
“L’Harmonieuse.” This is the only recording of the
French master's complete works for harpsichord.
In two volumes.
QC 1001 Harpsichord Recital
Debut solo CD with music by J. S. Bach,
Elisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, and Elias
Brunnemüller.
Recordings by
REBECCA PECHEFSKY & BROOKLYN BAROQUE
CHAMBER ENSEMBLE
QC 1005 Northern Lights
Brooklyn Baroque in its debut recording offers an
exquisite program of chamber works composed
by musical luminaries from Northern Europe.
The works—some familiar, some rarely heard
and never before recorded—represent the varied
creative styles of three generations of German
Baroque composers. With Gregory Bynum,
recorder.
QC 1007 The Pleasures of the French
Brooklyn Baroque's companion CD of French
Baroque music, featuring works by Couperin, La
Guerre, Hotteterre, Boismortier, Corrette, and
Barrière. With Gregory Bynum, recorder, and
Christine Gummere, cello
QC 1003 Johann Ludwig Krebs
Sonatas for Flute and Harpsichord
Richly imaginative sonatas for flute and
harpsichord by one of Bach's star pupils that are
an ideal complement to Bach's own famous
works for the same instruments and a perfect
introduction to Krebs's superb artistry.
